Cardigan Weekend

So there are a few things I need to update on here!  I haven't blogged in a while (sorry for anyone that actually reads this!) and I figured it might be good to finally do that!

Two weekends ago I got to go to California and it was wonderful!  We went to the Golden Gate Bridge and some other places around San Francisco and it was so much fun!  It was so nice to see Matt before he leaves for his mission!  Here are a few of my favorite pictures from that trip :]

Since then, things have been pretty good!  School has been kinda hard but mostly manageable and my job has been picking up it's pace but is still under control!  I love working with Lauren and I love love love my Usage class!  Being in that class has definitely made it clear that I am in the right major which is such a blessing after Grammar destroying my self-confidence in my English skills.  I can't wait to get into my editing minor and really get started on my future.  Everything lately has been falling into place so perfectly, even if it didn't seem perfect at the time!  I have really learned to trust in the Lord these past few weeks.  Even when I felt I was at some of my lowest points, things turned around and I was able to have peace.  That's kinda where I'm at right now.  I don't really know what's going to happen in regards to a few areas of my life, but for right now, that's okay because I know it will all work out eventually!

I also am more than sure that BYU was the absolute best choice of a school for me!  Tonight we played #4 San Diego (we're #9) and we WON by 13 points!  Isn't that incredible?  I love that I live in a college town because since the game ended, people have been randomly blaring car horns and screaming and being happy and excited!  I love it!  It is so awesome to be surrounded by so many good, happy people that have school spirit!  It's great!

I think that's all I have to say for now!  I am just loving life right now!  Even though not everything works out the way I plan, I'm coming to find that it's better that way because it's teaching me to have more trust and faith and giving me more stories to tell my kids :]

The End.

Simple Testimonies

In my home ward is a little boy that has Autism.  Every Fast Sunday, he bears his testimony.  I'm sure to some, he is annoying because he's loud and slightly awkward and sometimes stays up for a long time.  To me, though, he has one of the purest testimonies I've ever heard.  He says things completely off topic, but what he says comes from his heart.

Today, after running up to be the first person and then waiting to let someone else take their turn first, he jumped down the steps to the podium and just stood there.  Then he started talking about how he loves his family and his brother and said his brother is his "BFF".  Then he said he was thankful for the zoo and being able to go every day and night and how he doesn't know why his brother's mom picks him up from the bowling ally (he's in a yours-mine family).  But, in the middle of his testimony, the purity of his testimony came out.  He said "I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross for me," and that he knew the scriptures were real.  Even though he didn't say anything profound, the Spirit was so strong and tears came to my eyes.  The testimony in his heart is one of the strongest and deepest I have ever seen or heard.

I think that's pretty special.

Another year you made a promise
another chance to turn it all around
and do not save this for tomorrow
embrace the past and you can live for now
and I will give the world to you

Speak louder than the words before you
and give them meaning no one else has found
The role we play is so important
we are the voices of the underground
and I would give the world to you

Say everything you've always wanted,
be not afraid of who you really are,
cause in the end we have each other,
and thats at least one thing worth living for,
and I would give the world to you

A million suns that shine upon me
A million eyes you are the brightest blue
Lets tear the walls down that divide us
and build a statue strong enough for two,

I pass it back to you
and I will beat for you,
'cause I would give the world
and I would give the world
and I would give the world to you

This is the new year
A new beginning
You made a promise
You are the brightest
We are the voices
This is the new year
We are the voices
This is the new year
