Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

Well, after almost 19 years, I am finally out on my own.

And it's way weird.

My flight was really long and really bumpy.  There were a few times that I was pretty certain the plane was going to go down!  Obviously it didn't and I am now at school!  Sabrina picked me up and dropped me off at Erika and Sarah's apartment so I could spend the night with them.  After hanging out for a while, we decided we'd go see How to Train Your Dragon at the dollar theater.

We walked there (weird...) and coming back, it was actually kind of chilly!  I was smart enough to take a jacket with me and it definitely came in handy!  For being summer, it's really strange to even think about wearing a jacket!

As far as my apartment goes, it's pretty nice.  It's kind of small, but for freshman housing, it's WAY better than a typical dorm!  It does stink though to have to buy all of the things required for living in a dorm!  I'll have to post pictures as soon as I feel like taking them!

Tomorrow is the beginning of orientation and I'm a little nervous because campus is HUGE and I'm not sure if I'm ready to walk around all of it!  Good thing I have my tennis shoes!

That's the end of my adventures so far, but hopefully some awesome stuff will happen soon :]

Am I a Freak?

Going to the doctor is always fun.  They always ask such awesome questions.  I don't know if boys also get asked, but my favorite question was: Are you sexually active?

Now I realize that this is an odd thing to blog about but it really struck me today.  When I told the doctor no, she said okay and then went on to talking about something else.  The conversation ended up looping back to that topic and I told her that I wouldn't be participating in that activity for quite some time.  She then said that that was good, that I should wait until I found the right person, to which I said "I'll have to marry the right person first."  I don't think she hears that very often because she kind of laughed and said "That's good, but that's hard."

It kind of made me a little sad that even a doctor was so willing to just give up and say "oh, it's hard to stay abstinent so good luck with that."  It's only hard because people make it hard.  I don't sit around thinking about how difficult it is to resist my hormones and go do the nasty.  I know I'm not going to do it so there's nothing to worry about.  There's nothing to question or struggle with.

Girls all around are getting pregnant and complaining about how hard life is and that they're getting kicked out of their homes and can't do what they want because they've got a kid to take care of.  Well, don't have sex.  If you're not putting yourself in the position to get pregnant, you're not going to get pregnant.  Teens are trying too hard to be adults and they think that having sex makes them grown up and mature.  It doesn't.  We're too young for that kind of commitment.  There's no need for doing any of that stuff.  It's ridiculous.

But it still goes back to adults letting kids think it's not that big of a deal if they've had sex.  It's the adults that tell teens that "it's hard to not have sex."

You know what though?  It is a big deal.  And it isn't hard to be abstinent. I know lots of kids who have and are overcoming this "struggle."  They're just fine.

One week till everything changes...

I now officially have one full week left here in Florida.  That is really exciting but really depressing at the same time!

I'm starting to think about all the different things I'll miss.  Like sitting next to my dad at church or slapping my mom's butt (:]) or getting random compliments from people at church.  I'm going to miss my friends and getting made fun of for being Mormon and hearing my friends defend me when it's not them making fun of me.  And as much as I hate driving, I'm really going to miss car dancing. I'm also going to miss watching seasons at a time of The Office and making chocolate chip cookies that get squished to "seal in the delicious grease" and being wild by drinking Mountain Dew.

I am really excited but thinking about all of this really bums me out!

Today we kinda celebrated my 19th birthday almost a month early.  I got lots of clothes that I'm really excited to wear but it's kind of sad to think that I won't be with my family to celebrate the marvelous day that I entered the world (well maybe marvelous for most people; I'm not too sure how my mom was feelin' that day...).

What's crazy is that what really set my emotions rolling today was a woman at church that I don't think has ever really spoken to me.  She was never rude but she seemed kinda gruff and I was always a little scared of me.  While I was helping out in the nursery, she came in to tell the kids a story and afterwards told me that she's really going to miss seeing me each Sunday and that she's really enjoyed watching me grow up.  It kinda reinforced how big of a family I have here even if they aren't really my family.

I know it doesn't sound like it, but I really am excited for BYU.  I guess I'm just feeling a little nostalgic today.

Hopefully I'll be able to see everyone at some point in the next week, though I guess I know that that's not really possible...

I guess I can always hope!

Breakable

Have you ever thought about what protects our hearts?
Just a cage of rib bones and other various parts.
So it's fairly simple to cut right through the mess,
And to stop the muscle that makes us confess.

We are so fragile,
And our cracking bones make noise,
And we are just,
Breakable, breakable, breakable girls and boys.

BYU BBQ

"It's not a road trip unless you get lost."-Sarah Foley
"Then I go on a road trip every day."-Me

So Saturday, Erika, Sarah, and I had plans to go to a "Back to School BYU BBQ" in Orlando.  Before eating we thought we'd go to Jordan's house to tie dye.  We didn't take into account, though, that people in Orlando are idiots and are incapable of driving if there is any sort of distraction.

Due to a few people getting pulled over and one accident (that led to us taking about 20 minutes to go 5 miles), along with getting severely lost, we got to Jordan's house just in time to leave for the bbq...

Getting to the host's home was an adventure as well!  The neighborhood was right by the temple (which everyone knows is one of the most legit neighborhoods ever) and the first thing we saw pulling into this subdivision was a MASSIVE house.  It had this sweet back yard and we were all talking about how awesome the house was and how crazy it would be if that was the house we were going to.  Of course there was no way we could be going there so we were laughing and joking until we slowly realized that we were passing almost every house and that there weren't many left.

As it dawned on us that we were indeed going to the gigantic house, everyone in the car went slightly crazy.  Erika got so excited that we all thought she dropped an f bomb (of course she didn't though!) and I was so excited I somehow cracked the lid to the vegetable platter I was holding.

After the initial shock of the amazing chandeliers (yes, that's plural.) and the view of the temple from the kitchen (awesome!) we had some food and headed outside to explore some more.  That's when things got real awesome.  Their pool was one of those infinity pools that just kinda drops off the edge.  It has two levels and there was a tiled water slide that curves around and drops off into the lower level pool.  It was so ridiculously awesome that I had to be a creep and take pictures...

Unfortunately the picture of the chandelier is on my cell phone...

Then we went to the game room and played some Rock Band.  Seeing as they had FOUR couches in there, we each had one to ourselves!  Then we played some CatchPhrase and began the long journey home haha

And then I found twenty dollars.

Just kidding.  I wish!

"Have a magical day!"

Warning: This blog is found to cause boredom in uninterested readers. Read at own risk.

So now that I have finally gotten enough rest and am no longer insane (no comment please), I will blog about our glorious adventures at Disney World!

Erika came over Friday night and since Brad wouldn't be joining us at Disney again, we decided to use my BYU cookie cutter to make him some cookies.  Seeing as we don't follow directions well, the dough was a little strange and we had to keep doing different stuff in order to make the cookies!  In the end, we had one Y (we made four but obviously we had to test one and then there ended up not being enough room for the other two...), 2 hearts, and a giant cookie that we traced our hands into and cut a heart in the middle of... Since that sounds really confusing, here are the pictures :]

This is after it was baked... The BYU was made out of toothpicks.  Yep. We're clever!

We made icing and dyed it blue... Then we went a little crazy decorating.

Everything kept breaking (for example Erika's hand and the Y)

Then we delivered it to Brad.  That alone was an adventure!  I called him like 12 times, left a voice mail, paged him, and texted him and he never responded so I decided we'd just drive over! I was thinking about doing a ding dong ditch minus the ding dong so I cut my lights halfway down his driveway.  The driveway was so ridiculously long and dark though that I ended up having to turn them back on, which of course he saw.  As we got closer to the house, all of the outside lights shot on and freaked us out!  We weren't sure if it was automatic or if he was doing it, so we shut off every light on and in my car and decided to try to stealthily drop the cookies off at the door.

As we were like... 15 feet away, Brad (wearing all dark colors) shows up behind the glass door and quickly opens it.  At that moment, I'm pretty sure all of us were scared!  Then we gave him the cookies and ended up hanging out for a couple of hours!

Erika and I, not being very smart, decided to watch The Box before going to bed which lead to us only getting 3 hours of sleep before we had to be up so we could get ready!  We were so tired but I think our excitement helped us function on an acceptable level so we made our way to Disney!

We met with Jordan at Downtown Disney and headed to Hollywood Studios (MGM) where we'd start the day!  We rode the Great Movie Ride, Tower of Terror, and Rock N Roller Coaster and were out of the park in like an hour and a half!  Then we went to Animal Kingdom where we hit up Everest and the Safari ride and were out of there quickly, too! It was kind of crazy how fast we were making it through the park but we weren't going to complain about that!

At Epcot, we were able to ride Soarin' and the Mexico ride and go to the drink station twice fairly quickly.  We thought our luck with ride times would run out at Magic Kingdom, but we were wrong!

When we got to Magic Kingdom, we decided we really needed to eat because all we had eaten all day was granola bars, pop tarts, and nutrigrain bars and our bodies were definitely starting to shut down!  After that, we rode any and every ride we wanted to!  The longest wait time all day was like 40 minutes!  Since Space Mountain had technical difficulties and had to be shut down while we were waiting in line, we ran over to the People Movers and got to see Space Mountain with the lights on inside!

I basically never want to ride this ride again. haha What is sad is that there were people stuck inside of it!  I think it would have been even scarier to see what Space Mountain looks like with the lights on while you're in the midst of it!

After 12 hours in 4 parks, we decided we were ready to head out and beat the crowds that would be leaving at closing!  This sounded like a good idea since we were leaving an hour and a half before the park would be shut down!  Unfortunately, everyone else thought this would be a good idea as well!  It took us a little less than two hours to leave the park, get off Disney property, and finally get on I-4!  It was ridiculous!

Overall, it was so much fun!  We thought it would rain, it didn't.  We thought it'd be jammed packed, it wasn't.  We thought it'd be hot... Who are we kidding?  It was hotter than we could even imagine!  But it was worth it :]  Here are a couple pictures of the awesomeness we experienced!

If anyone actually read all of this, you are officially my best friend.
